Prepare before RFQ

Key engineering decisions

Topology and roles

Map EtherCAT, CANopen, Ethernet and RS485 master, slave, switch, remote I/O and device roles.

Addressing and port map

Record IP addressing, VLAN or segment context when supplied, PoE requirements and physical port assignments.

Clock and timing context

Distributed clock or jitter targets, such as customer-supplied DC jitter requirements, can be captured as review inputs when available without promising network performance.

Electrical boundary

Identify grounding, shield termination, electrical noise, safety I/O and power-domain dependencies.
